FreeCharge’s ‘Chat and Pay’ Digital Payments for consumers and merchants

FreeCharge brings ‘Chat and Pay’, is an engaging and secure way of enabling social payments also known as Person-to-person (P2P) payments. This interface also serves to connect merchants and consumers to chat, shop and pay – Person-to-Merchant (P2M) payments.

FreeCharge customers can seamlessly chat and pay in a secure way to friends, family, and merchants in less than 5 seconds. It also enables direct buyer – seller Chat interface for merchants, small or large to accept digital payments in less than 1 minute after registering on the FreeCharge App. Going forward, merchants will also be able to upgrade their payment limits of INR 10, 0000 with necessary KYC verification.

FreeCharge’s digital payments platform is to empower customers to discover nearby stores, place orders, exchange views and product images with merchants and pay on chat once the order is delivered. Merchants can now accept payments by registering their bank account number, geolocation and chose a custom identifier, a #paytag to allow customers to identify their service area through their FreeCharge App. This will further simplify and streamline the payments ecosystem, including the onboarding of merchants from both organized and unorganized sectors making FreeCharge the most widely used payments platform in the offline space.

At launch, the ‘Chat and Pay’ service will be available on Android and will be available on iOS and Windows over the next few weeks.

Transcend Introduces 1TB M.2 SSD

Transcend Information, Inc. announces 1 Terabyte M.2 Solid State Drive coming with 2280 form factor for ultra-thin computing devices, such as Ultrabook, tablet computers and laptops. Transcend’s MTS800 M.2 SSD is equipped with high-quality MLC NAND flash to remain its excellent stability, and is exclusively built in protective technologies, such as Global Wear-leveling, Advanced Garbage Collection, and Device Sleep mode.

By utilizing the next-generation SATA III 6Gb/s interface, Transcend’s MTS800 SSD is capable of delivering sequential read/write performance of up to 560MB/s and 460MB/s respectively. The newly released spacious 1TB supplies the MTS800’s capacity to its full scale ranging from 32GB to 1TB, which is determined to satisfy the needs of various market fields and individual consumer with personal budget plans.

It comes with various features including Error Correction Code (ECC) that helps detect and correct potential transfer errors, Device Sleep mode to reduce power consumption and shorten the response time upon wake-up from Sleep or Hibernate, and the S.M.A.R.T. function to efficiently monitor SSD health conditions.

Transcend’s MTS series SSD supports Intel Smart Response Technology (ISRT) in which an SSD is used as a cache between the hard disk drive and the computer system to memorize the applications and files that are most frequently accessed. This allows the hard disk more storage capacity to process and store other programs and files so as to improve the overall efficiency.

Apart from MTS800 available in 32GB~1TB capacities, two other Transcend’s MTS400 and MTS600 M.2 SSD models are also available in 32GB~512GB. All the MTS series are backed by Transcend’s Three-year Limited Warranty.

OPPO Unveils Super-Fast 15-Minute VOOC flash charge tech at MWC 2016

OPPO presented another exciting advance in smartphone user experience when it unveiled a breakthrough SmartSensor image stabilization and Super VOOC Flash Charge technologies at Mobile World Congress 2016.

Super VOOC Flash Charge: Giving a full charge in 15 minutes

Slow charging times and underwhelming battery life is a consistent problem for smartphone users. To address this problem, OPPO is proud to present Super VOOC Flash Charge technology. Super VOOC Flash Charge improves on the original VOOC Flash Charge introduced by OPPO in 2014 and now used by 18 million consumers worldwide. Original VOOC Flash Charge revolutionized charging by giving users 2 hours of talk after just 5 minutes of charging. Super VOOC takes it to the next level, offering a full 10 hours of talk time with only five minutes of charging, and filling a 2500 mAh battery in only 15 minutes, a never-before-seen speed.

Super VOOC Flash Charge uses a 5V low-voltage pulse-charge algorithm, ensuring a low-temperature charge that’s safe for the battery and dynamically regulating the current to charge the phone in the shortest time possible. The all-new algorithm pairs with a customizedsuper battery, as well as a new adapter, cable and connector made using premium, military-grade materials.Super VOOC Flash Charge supports Micro USB or type-C interfaces, in line with the global standard.

Super VOOC Flash Charge’s safe, low-temperature charging algorithm makes it perfect for using the phone while it’s charging, such as watching an HD video, or playing a game, a functionality which other quick charge technologies don’t support.

SmartSensor Image Stabilization: The first ever sensor-based, pixel-level optical image stabilizer

Smartphones are taking over as personal cameras, making mobile photography performance a critical factor for smartphone buyers. Continuing its commitment to breakthroughs in the smartphone camera revolution and to give users the ability to “take great photos anytime and anwhere”, OPPO decided several years ago to tackle the universally recognized issue of image stabilization.

Optical image stabilization technologies come in two types, lens-based and sensor-based, but due to the size limitations of smartphones, all previous solutions across the industry were lens-based. Relying on a groundbreaking MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system), OPPO’s SmartSensor is the first-ever sensor-based solution for smartphones, as well as the smallest optical image stabilizer of any kind in the world!

Moreover, SmartSensor improves on other solutions with a key advantage. Existing lens-based stablizers can only correct for vibrations on two axes of motions, the pitch axis and yaw axis, even though the most common type of unwanted shaking during photography actually takes place on the roll axis. SmartSensor solves this problem, allowing for image stabilization on three axes, pitch, yaw and the all-important roll.

Making split-second adjustments with its comb-shaped monocrystalline silicon MEMS, SmartSensor achieves full three-axis image stabilization in a mere 15 milliseconds.

At the same time, SmartSensor uses a voltage-driven sensor, reducing power consumption to as low as 10 milliwatts, 50 times less than the power consumption of lens-based solutions.

Lens-based systems, with their increased power consumption, can quickly heat up the module, affecting image quality, especially during extended photo shoots. But the low power consumption of the fine-tuned MEMS keeps temperatures low and preserves image quality even in long shooting sessions. Meanwhile, whereas lens-based image stabilizers generally have a precion of between 3 and 5 μm, SmartSensor remains precise to a vibration of just 0.3μm. The size of a pixel is usually larger than 1 μm, meaning that SmartSensor is the world’s first pixel-level image stabilize.

With SmartSensor, OPPO smartphones become like pocket-sized SLR cameras, able to capture life’s beautiful moments in breathtaking detail. Even when lighting conditions aren’t ideal, such as at a party or concert, SmartSensor ensures clear and bright images by allowing a longer exposure time.
